600000kg of textile waste was collected in the span of 22 months, from 4 states in Malaysia. Which is approximately equivalent to 3.6 million pieces of clothing. Only 10-20% of donated clothes are resold and less than 1% of clothes are recycled into other clothes. Unfortunately the Global South is used as dumping grounds for textile waste and 80% of textile are doomed for the landfill.
